Figure 1 below shows a forgiveness process model that Ann has developed and used with clients over the years. It is, however, missing details towards the central, right-hand side: what happens, over time, that helps people make the shift from negative to positive?
However, as a result of a forgiveness research project of which Ann was primary investigator,
she was able to add to the forgiveness process model some details to what happens, over time,
in the shift from negative to positive on the journey to forgiveness. See Figure 2 below.
Finally, the "Guideposts to Forgiveness" item below shows more detail about what
Ann's research revealed about "how" people forgive.
